We called it a ministry house because the home is a ministry to the family who otherwise might not be able to own a home. The ministry house was a ministry opportunity for our churches to use their talents to build the home. The house was also a ministry to the community by providing additional “affordable housing.” The proceeds provide additional revenue for ministry initiatives that strengthen churches.
Building this house is the result of Middle District’s volunteers going to Louisiana to build a home for an older gentleman who was displaced because of hurricane Katrina. Our people returned and began talking of building such a house here in the Middle District region. Middle District had land donated in Hide Away Lakes, Powhatan, to make this God-given ministry dream a reality.
Organizing and Volunteers
Thank you to all who have helped! Many of you volunteered time to help get this home completed. Many tradesman and vendors came alongside us to offer products and services at reduced cost. We couldn’t have done it without you. The family is blessed and so thankful and so are we!
