Each fall and spring Richmond International Raceway (RIR) turns into the destination of choice for race fans. Volunteers from churches host a hospitality tent immediately adjacent to the raceway’s entrance and give out water, cookies, and Christian literature.
Often churches bring singers and musical groups or performing arts groups such as clowns, magicians, mimes, jugglers, balloon artist, etc. For information, contact Rev. Billy Davis, Volunteer Coordinator for Central VA Raceway Ministry.
Spring date for 2012: April 27-28. We need volunteers and… cookies! Please bake cookies and place 2-3 medium 
sized cookies in a clear ziploc-style bag. Label each bag “Compliments of _______ Baptist Church.” (No tracts please) Bring the cookies to the MDBA office April 26th, by Noon or contact Rev. Davis to make arrangements.
