Past Ministries Funded by the Local Missions Offering:
Ministry House – Similar to a “Habitat House” Middle District churches and friends built a “ministry house” in rural Powhatan.
We called it a ministry house because the home is a ministry to the family who otherwise might not be able to own a home. The ministry house was a ministry opportunity for our churches to use their talents to build the home. The house was also a ministry to the community by providing additional “affordable housing.” The proceeds provide additional revenue for ministry initiatives that strengthen churches.
Panama Missions – Youth high on drugs burned the church in the tiny Panama village of Carreto. The Christians asked their village chief for permission to rebuild but he refused. After three and a half years of fervent prayer, he gave permission and in 2012 Middle District helped these Kuna Indians rebuild a permanent church structure and added solar lighting as well.
July 24 – August 3, 2013 another group from Middle District returned to Carreto and to Anachukuna, the next village, and in addition to preaching, this team provided medicine to the sick in four villages, ministered to more than 500 people and gave 1500 medical prescriptions. The believers in Anachukuna then set out to build their own worship hut with the financial aid of Middle District. A return trip was taken summer of 2015 to minister to the children in the school, administer medicine and dental care plus leading worship services during the evening.
