Re-visioning Ministry Initiatives

For the last few years, the leaders of Middle District have realized the need to "re-dream the dream" for the Association. The process of re-visioning has lead to focusing on the ministry initiatives listed below. The MDBA leadership has intentially not prioritized these ministries because we are wanting to discover God's timing in their development and to give our people the opportunity to focus on areas of their passion and giftedness. The intent of these initiatves is to re-focus the efforts of the Association to impact the ministry of the local church. In so doing, Middle District becomes a resource for helping each church of the Association to fullfill the Great Commission in its own neighborhood. The Association's mission statement expresses this focus:

Middle District Baptist Association exits to

connect, mobilize, strengthen, and start churches

that reach their communities and beyond with the transforming love of Jesus.

The strategy MDBA will use to fullfill this mission include the following ministry initiatives:

Spiritual Transformation –

            Initiate dynamic opportunities for spiritual growth.

Resourcing and Connecting Churches in Change –

Through church partnerships and learning opportunities, provide encouragement and practical growth ideas for pastors and lay people of churches whose community is changing significantly due to race, age, income level, or population growth.

Church Multiplication-

Mobilize and connect churches in starting new churches using established and new models of church planting.  Locate financial resources and land for new church locations.

Ministry and Missions Church Partnerships-

          Facilitate and initiate church-to-church partnerships in shared mission opportunities.

Transforming Community Ministries of Compassion -

Helping MDBA churches connect, impact, and care for the people in their neighborhoods through ministries that transform and rebuild spiritually and physically.

Multicultural Kingdom Expansion -

Start new ethnic churches and help existing churches to be more effective in welcoming ethnics into their current church life.
